Our Plastic Promise

The Sea Clean mission goes beyond revolutionising boat cleaning methods with our eco-friendly
waterless products. Everything we stand for centres on our wider company ethos to innovate for
sustainability, take meaningful action and collaborate with others to help reduce plastic waste in our
oceans.
Driven by a passion for boating and the ocean, Sea Clean promises to help clean up and care for the
marine environment – and we are already making progress. Through one of our key initiatives, a
partnership with CleanHub, we are delighted to announce that we have collected 88kg of plastic,
equating to 8,800 bottles. This is well on the way to our initial target of 100kg during our first year of
operation.

Significantly, the Sea Clean plastic clean-up process is verified through CleanHub’s own track and
trace technology, ensuring certified impact in stopping non-recyclable plastic from entering our
oceans, the most previous ecosystem on earth. We are proud to be empowered by CleanHub, an
organisation aiming to prevent 50% of new ocean plastic by 2030, to back our strategy to be ‘Plastic
Neutral’.
Our clean-up efforts will gather momentum during 2024, with exciting plans in place to make a
difference on this country’s beautiful beaches. The new Sea Clean beach clean bags will launch very
soon in time for a busy schedule of beach clean events throughout the summer. We can also reveal
that we will incorporate a Sea Clean kit with these bags for a limited time.

Time To Take Action

Plastic pollution and water scarcity due to rising temperatures are a big concern for all those who
love spending time in the ocean environment. Millions of tons of plastic waste enter our oceans
every year and trillions of pieces of plastic debris litter the surface and deep sea. In addition, we can
expect hose pipe bans to increase in the coming years, with 2023 confirmed as the world’s hottest
year on record and 2024 predicted to break the record again, moving closer to 1.5C of warming
above pre-industrial levels.

Inactivity is not an option. Sea Clean is addressing these two key issues by working with customers,
businesses and the industry to bring about change. Alongside this year’s on-going plastic clean-up
plans, we are reaching more customers keen to try our eco-friendly boat cleaning solutions – the
UK’s only waterless products. Our waterless technology means the entire Sea Clean kit can still be used during hot summers when water scarcity causes marinas or authorities to impose limits on
water usage. The Sea Clean eco-friendly product range not only almost eliminate the need for water,
they also achieve a high-quality finish and simplify watercraft maintenance.

Join the Sea Clean Mission

We must work together to face today’s global climate and pollution problems. Our long-term plan is to actively engage in projects, such as the local clean-ups and other initiatives such as seabin installations, to make a difference, contribute to more sustainable practices and promote environmental stewardship.

To have a bigger impact within the marine community, Sea Clean is expanding and constantly working on improving and developing new products.

Our priority is to ensure the Sea Clean cleaning solutions are easily accessible to our customers this summer and we are now working with several partners to strengthen our distribution network.

In 2024 and beyond, we look forward to joining with you to clean our beaches and reduce the environmental impact of boat cleaning. We also welcome hearing from anyone interested in finding out more or stocking the Sea Clean products. Please contact us through our website contact form.

Sea clean products are currently packaged in recycled plastic bottles due to efficiency, shipping and fragility reasons and we know that’s not good enough. Although we promote reusing our bottles we understand this isn’t always going to be the case, that’s why we are on a mission to cleanup more sea bound plastic bottles than we sell to help put an end to marine plastic pollution.
